Registered Psychologist

Véronique Faletto, is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She has completed her master’s degree in Psychology, specializing in Clinical Intercultural Psychopathology of Social Ties, Crises situations and Clinical Psychopathology at the University of Nice in France in 2009. She completed her EMDR Therapy Training in 2018. Among her patients are Veterans, RCMP officers, other first responders as well as adults wounded by a difficult childhood.

Véronique has developed a keen interest in the treatment and recovery of individuals suffering with trauma-related disorders: depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, shame, guilt, substance abuse, etc.

When we speak about trauma, a specific "big" event is not always necessary; repeated and chronic interpersonal wounds can overwhelm a person's capacity to regulate emotions. All these past experiences are re-enacted in the present, preventing us from feeling safe, loved, worthy, and trusting in others or ourselves. They make us feel either highly alert or entirely depleted which keeps us from being fully alive. The question is not “what is wrong with you?” but rather “what happened to you?”.

Coming to talk to a therapist is not always an easy step to take, but part of her own life path gave her the opportunity to experience this process. It is with awareness and humility that she offers a safe, respectful, and judgment-free space where difficult experiences and emotions can be explored.
