At Wayfound, we acknowledge the many Indigenous Peoples who have lived on and cared for these lands for many generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are with us today and for those who have gone before us. We respect the histories, languages, and cultures of all the Indigenous Peoples. We would like to specifically acknowledge the land that our clinics are located on.
We make this acknowledgment as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
We acknowledge that what we call Calgary is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently Treaty 7 territory. The traditional and ancestral territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Kainai, Piikani and Siksika as well as the Tsuu T’ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nation.
We acknowledge that what we call Edmonton is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently residing on Treaty 8 territory, the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree and Dene.
We acknowledge that what we call Red Deer is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently residing on Treaties 6 and 7 territories. We acknowledge Treaty 6 territory the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge Treaty 7, the traditional and ancestral territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Kainai, Piikani and Siksika as well as the Tsuu T’ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nation.
We acknowledge that what we call Toronto and the GTA is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently the ancestral territory of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations.
