Dr. MacDonald graduated with her PhD in Psychology in 2016 from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has been conducting and publishing research, including book chapters, in the area of Forensic Psychology for over 10 years. She has been in practice as a Forensic Interview Specialist since 2017, working with members of the RCMP, Calgary Police, Calgary Prosecution Service, among other organizations, conducting forensic interviews of children who have experienced maltreatment. As a Registered Provisional Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling) with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Dr. MacDonald’s treatment approach is largely informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Dr. MacDonald is committed to empirically based practices and is regularly engaged in speaking and training events related to trauma, memory, and forensic interviewing, for professionals in the criminal justice system throughout Canada. She has also taught Forensic Psychology at the undergraduate level and has presented her research internationally.
