Rupa Ray

Registered Social Worker
Rupa Ray completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) in clinical specialization from the University of Calgary in 2019. She is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). She is authorized to perform restricted psychosocial intervention in her practice. Rupa has over three years of experience in counselling and therapy. She worked as a family counsellor at Catholic Social Services and as a mental health therapist for Alberta Health Services (Recovery Alberta). She provided therapeutic counselling to children, adolescents, youths, adults, elderly clients, families, couples and groups who came with trauma and PTSD, complex family issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and schizophrenia. Rupa practices evidence-based, person-centered, culturally competent, trauma and resilience-informed approaches to treat clients. She helps individuals to reclaim self-reliance and self-compassion, as two important components of resilience.
Fun fact: Rupa worked as a research assistant in a University of Calgary research team and co-authored “Arts and Social Work: Applying Creative Methods in Research,” Social Dialogue Magazine, January 2018.
