Registered Provisional Psychologist

Michelle is a Registered Provisional Psychologist under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence Deck, and a PhD candidate in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary. Michelle has a longstanding interest in supporting the wellbeing of military and public safety members affected by trauma. During her Masters, she worked with active military members and Veterans, and RCMP at the Calgary OSI Clinic. She subsequently completed her thesis on the experience of posttraumatic growth in Veterans. Her current dissertation research focuses on the intersectional experiences of women in the fire service. As a researcher, she has been part of the development and evaluation of a program aimed at supporting family members of first responders in Canada. 

Clinically, Michelle draws upon systemic, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and strengths-based practices to support her clients through an integrative approach. She has worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal/familial concerns, substance use, life transitions, and operational stress among other concerns. She works collaboratively with clients facing diverse stressors to support meaningful, life-long growth.
